A bit of news I forgot to share because I was so overly happy!
At the end of last week, on NOV. 9th one of the experiment films I’ve picked, Life Through the Lens directed by AUBG student, Igor Myakotin, was screened at the Big Water Film Festival in Ashland, WI, US. Life Through the Lens is the first film from the three to have a North-American Premiere! Isn’t that exciting?
The film got into the fest’s program because professor Melody Gilbert, who is familiar with the programmers at Big Water Film Festival forwarded the film to them.Whoa! You might ask, is that that even possible or allowed? Totally! It is not like the Big Water Film Festival programmers blindly put it in the program, they watched it, liked it and decided to give it a go. Professor Gilbert gave the film a jump start by handing the film directly to the programmers and that is OK. If you know someone who knows someone you should go for it, that’s how you make your film stand out from the sea of submissions.
